As part of Botswana’s 50^th anniversary of independence celebrations, a local company called 50 Years of Economics and Business will on September 1 officially launch a publication titled: 50 Years of Economics and Business.

According to a press release from 50 Years of Economics and Business, the publication is geared towards commemorating Botswana’s independence from an economic and business perspective by celebrating its success and chronicling milestones that were achieved over the past 50 years.

The publication will also provide a platform to showcase current businesses and enterprises to attract more such investments and prospects in efforts to offer diversification in the country’s continued growth. 

Since independence as per the release, the government of Botswana has played a pivotal role in the country’s development by ably playing its governance role and providing an enabling environment to facilitate trade. 

“Likewise the private sector has contributed immensely in the achievement of our economic emancipation and growth in trade as a country,” stated the release. 

When it attained independence, Botswana had very little economic and industrial resources.

 However, through prudent management of its natural resources and the national economy, the country has managed to realise massive economic development, industrialisation and citizen economic empowerment that have over the years earned it the accolade of a shining example of democracy in Africa. 

Therefore, 50 Years of Economics and Business, as per the release, presents a once in a life time opportunity for companies operating in Botswana to market their products to Botswana and the rest of the world. 

In compiling the book, the company sought partnerships with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and endorsements from Botswana Investment and Trade Centre- Brand Botswana, Vision 2016, BOT50, Primedia Outdoor and Advertising and other key stakeholders. Ends
