Report corrupt officers
29 Apr 2013
Residents of Modipane have been encouraged to report corrupt officers without delay so that they are brought to book .
This was said by the Minister of Lands and Housing Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake on April 25 during President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama Kgotla meeting held at Modipane.
Minister Mokalake was responding to Mr Ephraim Motshware who alleged that some landboard officers are corrupt.
Mr Motshware said they need help as some allocate plots for themselves while others act as estate agents as they sell plots to them.
Mokalake advised the residents to report such cases without delay especially that they know better and live with them most of the time.
He asked the residents to respond accordingly to Anti-Corruption officers who have been placed in offices so that action can be taken.
Minister Mokalake said they should report cases that they know well so that they can give evidence in the courts of law.
He said the problem with Batswana is that they do not report cases of corruption because they fear to be victimised therefore calling on them to stand with government and fight corruption.
Nevertheless, the minister brought the residents to attention that there is no law that hinders Landboard officers from applying for land as they are citizens, but said should be transparent. ENDS
