Volleyball team readies for Olympic qualifiers

The national women volleyball team is gearing up for Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
According to a press release from the volleyball federation, the team recently convened for camp in Gaborone.
The team started training on January 5 to prepare for the February 18 qualifiers in Cameroon.
The release states that the captain, Kutlwano’s Tebogo Sejwe has expressed confidence in the team saying most of the players have been active for most of 2015 and are looking sharper than ever in their first few training sessions.
She also says the moral in the camp is high, everyone is fighting hard for their spots making the team more competitive.
According to the release, Sejwe believes the team stands a good chance to qualify in Africa most of all because the majority of the players are regular national team players with experience in top flight volleyball.
In addition, the release states that the team recently came back from the Africa Games, bringing home a top four finish.
Therefore, bench marking the team against other African national teams will come in handy for them.
The sport development officer for volleyball, Peaceful Seleka, says the team is a balanced side of youngsters and experienced players.
Seleka also expressed confidence in the team, saying with an added boost of a couple of star players still to join the camp.
The players bring with them an abundance of tamina since they spent the majority of last year in action. Ends
