Sankoyo Bush Bucks chairperson quits

Sankoyo Bush Bucks chairperson, Willie Dikgosana has resigned from the club end of December last year.
The marketing manager, Obusitswe John confirmed in an interview that they received a letter of resignation from him late last year. He did not disclose the reasons for his resignation only describing it as personal.
He however mentioned that the team is in financial crisis as it has many debts which would not allow him to perform his duties effectively.
John expressed frustration regarding the resignation noting that it came at the wrong time as the team is facing a lot of challenges amongst them failure to pay players’ salaries for December.
In addition he said players have not reported for training since the beginning of the year because they were not paid.
He admitted that indeed the team is financially crippled as the management is unable to take care of the players’ welfare.
He also explained that at the moment, they could not call an annual general meeting because they were left with only 13 games before the end of the premier league season adding that they executive committee has decided to co-opt someone to fill the post.
John said they intend to call an emergency meeting soon to update supporters on the status of the team and map the way forward.
He revealed that some teams have shown interest in recruiting some of their players.
He could not mention which teams but noted that they have given them the go ahead to negotiate with players and then inform the management about their agreements.
For his part, the out-going chairperson, Dikgosana confirmed his resignation.
He disclosed some of the reasons for his resignation such as in fighting within the executive committee noting that there was lack of cooperation between some members.
He said some members of the committee were failing the team as they did not carry out their duties as expected nor attend scheduled meetings and this has resulted in some conflicts when he tried to question.
Another reason Dikgosana advanced is failure to secure a sponsor.
Dikgosana was co-opted as a chairperson since February 2013 and served the team for two years. Ends
