beMOBILE Premiership giants, Township Rollers; Tonota branch, donated a football kit and other items to Blue Birds Football Club on Saturday (December 20).

Speaking at the handing over ceremony in Tonota, Kgosi Julius Machema of Mannathoko ward appreciated the donation saying cooperation was good because it encouraged the team to work hard to achieve its dreams. Machema urged Blue Birds to raise funds through concerts to boost the team’s coffers.

One of the Rollers representatives, Keneilwe Nthoiwa said they chose Blue Birds because of their needs and being one of the oldest teams in Tonota.

For his part, the president of Blue Birds, Kgobo Masitla thanked the branch for their social responsibility initiative.

He said it was good to see one team donating to another, adding that was because of love, care, and support for each other.

Masitla said although his team was established in 1960, it only relied on volunteerism, adding that the team had many supporters who wanted to take the team higher.

He appreciated the kit and other items and said it was good to see such donations because the team had experienced challenges since it was formed. Ends
