Bootcamps prepare students for daily challenges

Education regional operations director (South), Mr Acro Maseko has said boot camp benefits students in numerous ways.
Speaking at a boot camp for former Moshupa Senior Secondary School students held recently, Mr Maseko applauded students for attending, saying the boot camp provides life skills to prepare students for the daily challenges of life.
He advised them to use available opportunities to empower themselves, use accessible information and knowledge to open doors for their future.
“Your deliberations in this boot camp should expose you to identify your career paths,” said Mr Maseko.
Mr Maseko noted that most people spend their lives marveling, looking at prospects and their complexities instead of harvesting the best out of it. He encouraged students to utilise their talents and stay focused to achieve dreams.
He thanked the school head, school management and teachers for organising the boot camp and further urged the students to refrain from drugs and alcohol.
For his part, chief education officer Mr Gofenyang Ponoesele said the government has found it fit to interface and reverse the trends of youth unemployment and poverty levels hence the introduction of Youth Empowerment Schemes.
Mr Ponoesele said that the boot camp aimed at developing students’ entrepreneurial skills and creating awareness on the meaning of life, promoting the spirit of patriotism to enable the youths to contribute to the development of the country as well as to make them responsible and eventually raise a moral upright nation.
Moshupa Senior Secondary deputy school head, Mr Cyde Sibanda advised students to start preparing for their future needs. He cautioned students against terrorising villagers but instead focus on developing themselves for the better. Ends
