Orange Botswana has awarded Ms Thato Mahube a tender worth P100 000 to supply Christmas gifts.

Ms Mahube was awarded the tender after winning the Orange Bonatla le Botswerere 2015 women’s challenge competition.

Addressing the media recently, Orange Botswana public relations manager, Ms Boga Chilinde said the competition the foundation initiative which aimed to empower women in business and give them a platform to nurture their creative side by competing for a bid to produce and supply Christmas gifts.

She added that the foundation focused on areas aligned to the country’s national priorities.

“Since establishment, the foundation has founded projects on education and skills development, women and girls, health and disabilities,” she said.

She noted that women found themselves in difficult situations due to their economic and educational background and hence the reason Orange Foundation found it fit to assist them.
“As our contribution to addressing this problem, Orange Foundation came up with a plan to empower women so that they can achieve economic independence,” she said.

For her part, Ms Mahube expressed her gratitude towards Orange Botswana. She also encouraged other women to work hard in everything they did to get desired results. Ends
