GU walk over Sankoyo
07 Dec 2015
Gaborone United turned an otherwise cold encounter against Sankoyo Bush Bucks into a scoring spree, netting three goals and collecting the maximum three points to the delight of its fans at Maun Sports Complex on Saturday December 5.
Gaborone United beat the Maun based lads 3-0 courtesy of goals from Gaopatwe Seosenyeng in the first half and Ntesang Simanyana and Benson Shilongo in the 69th and 83th minute respectively.
The goals sent the sizeable Moyagoleele fans into wild celebrations as they have previously suffered a 1-0 defeat against the struggling Motlakase Power Dynamos.
The game, which started at a low pace, finally lived up to expectations in the second half. Both teams started the game at a low pace, but Ngurungu disappointed its supporters despite its dominance during the entire game.
The supporters came in large numbers with expectations that the team would make a turn around after a draw in its recent encounter with Satmos Football Club.
They believed that Ngurungu would use home ground advantage to increase its chances of staying afloat in the premier league, but their dreams were shattered as Moyagoleele continued to create perfect chances of scoring.
In an interview, GU assistant coach, Oris Radipotsane expressed happiness, noting that his boys displayed a sterling performance and managed to collect the much needed points.
He said after their loss to Motlakase Power Dynamos, they had to motivate their players and prepare for the Ngurungu game hence they played well.
Radipotsane also noted that since he joined GU, the team has improved significantly as he treats all players equally and all are given a chance to play.
For his part, Sankoyo assistant coach, Tiiso Gadimang said it was unfortunate that his boys lost the game even though they started well. He said their game plan was to play wide as their midfield had a problem of speed. ENDS
