07 Dec 2015
The Minister of Agriculture Mr Patrick Ralotsia says the Livestock Management and Infrastructure Development (LIMID) programme does assist farmers practising integrated farming provided the primary land use of the farm is livestock production.
He said LIMID does not cover borehole equipping where primary land use for the integrated farm is crop production.“Moreover, LIMID assists livestock farmers in communal grazing area who own up to a maximum of 200 cattle with water development (borehole purchase, drilling, equipping or reticulation,” Mr Ralotsia said.
MP for Takatokwane Mr Ngaka Ngaka had asked the minister why LIMID does not cover borehole equipping in integrated farming since integrated farming includes livestock. Ends
