Ministry aware of Ramotswa project audit
30 Nov 2015
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development says his ministry is aware of the audit that was done on the project of construction of Ramotswa internal roads.
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Frans Van Der Westhuizen said the audit was initiated by a concern expressed by the South East District councillors in a full council of June 25-28 in 2012 regarding poor workmanship on the project.
He said the ministry through the South East District Council requested the office of the Auditor General in November 2013 to undertake an audit of the project and the audit report had since been compiled and submitted to the council on September 11 this year.
“The report is still to be tabled before the relevant council structures to facilitate action,” he concluded. Member of Parliament for Ramotswa, Mr Samuel Rantuana, had asked the minister if he was aware of an audit that was done on the status of Ramotswa internal roads and if so what initiated the audit and further asked the minister to state the outcome.
