Two days festival for Sankoyo Bush Bucks
26 Nov 2015
Revelers and Sankoyo Bush Bucks football team fans are expected to fill Maun Sports Complex on November 27 and 28 for the team’s fund raising festival.
In an interview with BOPA, the event promoter, Tiroyabotlhe Kebaetse said the likes of South African artists Splash, Dan Tshanda, Dalom Kids and local artist Jojo would grace the 24 hours event.
The major share of the proceeds of the event are purported to assist Sankoyo Bush Bucks football team while 30 percent of the proceeds are aimed to help Thuso Rehabilitation Centre.
Kebaetse noted that Sankoyo Bush Bucks has broadened business opportunities to the Maun community and companies since it has joined the Be Mobile Premiership in 2014/2015 season.
The Sankoyo is the first ever team from Maun to partake in the elite Be Mobile Premiership league.
However, Kebaetse said Sankoyo Bush Bucks required funds to cover expenses in travel, transport, accommodation and players’ salaries to remain in the elite games.
Thuso Rehabilitation Centre, he said was a crucial place which provided services to people with disabilities in Maun and other areas.
Kebaetse noted that the Rehabilitation Centre was partially funded by government through Ministry of Health therefore required more funds.
The Festival fee is P100 on ordinary clothes and P80 for people donning Sankoyo Bushbucks T-shirts. Ends
