Ministry aware of clinics operating hours

24 Nov 2015

Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele has told Parliament that he was aware that the Tamasane, Diloro and Mogapi health posts were open from 7:30am to 1pm during weekends.

However, he stated that currently Tamasane was not operating during the weekends because there was only one nurse in the facility. He said the situation would be normalised on 8 December 2015 when the second nurse reports back from leave.

Dr Madigele highlighted that Kgagodi and Mogapinyana were served by the Maokatumo Clinic which was within 3kms. He said the clinic was open during the week from 7:30am to 4:30pm and during the weekends between 7:30am and 1pm. He said patients that present to these facilities after 1pm are attended to by a nurse on call at the facility.

The MP for Mmadinare, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila had asked the minister if he was aware that the Tamasane, Diloro and Mogapi health posts close during weekends; and if so, where were residents of Tamasane, Diloro, Kgagodi, Mogapinyana and Mogapi expected to be attended when the health posts were closed especially as there was no 24 hour clinic covering the villages. Ends
