Clinic serves school community

23 Nov 2015

The Mmadinare Senior Secondary School clinic is meant to serve the school community only, says Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraele Goya. Mr Goya said the school clinic was operating in the guidance and counselling room and was manned by one nurse, and that it has adequate basic medicines and equipment.

Mr Goya said the facility was meant to cater for minor ailments only as major cases were referred to appropriate centres. He said his ministry does not have any future plans to increase staff and provide equipment and furniture for the clinic. “It has never been the ministry’s intention to extend services to the neighbouring community hence there are no plans to do so in the near future as the provision of medical services to the community is the mandate of the Ministry of Health,” he said.

Mmadinare MP, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila had asked the minister when the Mmadinare Senior Secondary School Clinic would be fully staffed and capacitated with the requisite equipment and furniture and provide services to the neighbouring community. Ends
