19 Nov 2015

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development is aware that there is no suitable ground for physical education at Mookami JSS as currently netball and other sporting activities are conducted using external facilities.

Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraele Goya said currently the budget does not allow for erection of an all-weather ground at the school.

He further explained that the request for such a ground was noted, and that they have instructed the regional operations office to seek suitable land through the land board.

The MP for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile had asked the minister if he was aware that Mookami JSS does not have suitable ground for the teaching and coaching of physical education, sports and athletics, and that the present ground was on a slope and was heavy with rocks which make it impossible to maintain.

He further wanted to know if he would consider creating an all-weather surface on the present ground to cater for volleyball and netball activities. Ends
