Chaba to earn her stripes in Abu Dhabi

Tracy Chaba played volleyball in Africa, and her biggest dream was to continue earning her stripe in other parts of the World.
As fate would have it, Kutlwano player moved to United Arab Emirates in October to continue with her career of playing professional volleyball in a team called Al Wadha which is based in Abu Dhabi.
She told BOPA that her move was necessitated by Kenyan coach and she has penned an eight months contract with her team.
Chaba further said moving to Asia was a dream come true for her, given that she was going to gain experience.
“I played in Algeria-Africa so it is my first time to play in Asia so I think it is a great opportunity for me to learn and see how they develop players, who knows maybe I will come and help my country when I come back,” she said.
She said the level of competition is not very high as expected, adding that to her is all about gaining exposure and show case what Botswana players can offer, as that can open doors for other players who are interested in moving to Asia.
In her first game on Friday she helped her team to win 3-1 against Dubai -based side Asperia Munviro.
She said the game went well, although she was a bit nervous, because their opponents were a bit taller than her team mates.
She said experience came handy and she knew she was left with no option but do a lot of work for her side.
Chaba said as the game progressed she gained her confidence, and they managed to take the first set although they lost a bit of concentration losing the second set to Asperia Munviro.
“All in all I am happy that we managed to win our game, and my intention is to continue to work very hard, mind you I am not this side on holidays, but to work very hard,” she said.
Meanwhile before moving back home in 2014,Chaba played for a top club Mechaal Baladiat Bejaia Volleyball Club in Algeria, which she helped to finish the league perched on position two, and qualified for Algerian cup final. Ends
