Maintenance done at Mosu primary

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told parliament that her ministry through Central District Council undertook minor maintenance of patching classrooms floors, including verandas as well as replacement of floor tiling at Mosu primary school during the financial year 2014/2015.
She stated that in the current financial year 2015/2016 the council maintenance crew removed three classroom ceilings that were infested with bats and preparations are currently underway to replace them by the end of November 2015. Ms Tshireletso said it has been established that the school requires major maintenance that includes classrooms, toilets, staff accommodation and the school kitchen which is planned for the financial year 2016/2017.
Regarding the school electrification, the assistant minister said Mosu Primary School benefited from the electrification of public facilities project. She said the school was wired on August 27 and completed on 14 November 2014 adding that the work has since been commissioned and the school now has electricity.
Ms Tshireletso further explained that her ministry is currently running a tender for 66 primary schools including Mosu for the provision of furniture to receptions classes. MP for Boteti East Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the assistant Minister to apprise parliament on the status of Mosu Primary School for the past 15 years particularly on the maintenance of classrooms and staff accommodation.
He further asked for an update on the status of the school kitchen, Pre-school furniture and electrification. Ends
