The Village Development Committee (VDC) in Mogapi is building shelter for the village’s health post. Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele explained to Parliament  that the VDC has already de-bushed the area identified for construction of the shelter.

“The project is expected to be completed by the end of this financial year,” Dr Madigele explained. Mmadinare MP, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila, had complained that the lack of a shaded waiting area at the health post forced patients to wait under elements of the weather before seeing health practitioners. He wanted to know remedial actions being taken to address the challenge.

Mr Mzwinila also complained that lack of access ramps made it difficult for the elderly and disabled to enter the building. Dr Madigele said plans were underway to construct a ramp at the health post in the current financial year to improve access for physically challenged clients. He also said the slab at the health post was meant to control flooding during the rainy season. ENDS
