37 schools receive balls

About 37 primary schools in Palapye Administrative Authority (PAA) have received footballs and netballs from World Group of Companies
Donating the balls on behalf of the companies, Maruapula Filling station manager, Thari Nkwe said the companies had devoted themselves on assisting in sport development.
Thus, Nkwe said they had chosen to donate balls to develop youngster’s career on sport, as it was considered top priority in developing countries.
Also, he said they were doing that in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC).
MYSC district coordinator-Palapye, Letlogile Seofereng, said his ministry was eager to develop youngsters from grass root level, adding that the balls would help them identify their talents and use them to develop their career.
If youth were developed in sport ad given the right technics and skills, he said they would be able to represent Botswana at national and international level.
Seofereng said sport today, was considered as something that one could earn a living from and he encouraged the youth to take it serious. He said MYSC was considering sport as most important activity; hence it was incorporated as co-curriculum activity at schools.
Sport and culture senior teacher at Boipuso Primary School, Agang Mogotsi said the donation came at the right time and right place, saying his school was regarded as school of excellence in sport, as they have been doing well at national sport competitions for primary schools, brining silverwares.
Mogotsi appreciated the size of the balls, saying they were of the right size for the kids, and promised that they would be well utilised for better performance and good results.
Each class from standard one to seven were given two ball each, for netball and football, including special classes. Ends
