Orapa United Football Club coach, Madinda Ndlovu is confident that his team will emerge beMOBILE Premiership league champions this season.

In an interview after his boys defeated Maun-based Sankoyo Bush Bucks 1-0 in a tough encounter at Maun Sports Complex, Ndlovu said looking at his team’s performance, he was optimistic that they would win the league.

“I am a championship winning coach and my target is to win. I have built a team with a range of winning the premiership league and I could tell you that I have already won,” he said.

Ndlovu noted that the ‘Ostriches’ play with talented young boys, citing the likes of Thabang Sesinyi, who has been scoring in all the games.

He said the player stands a chance of being called to the national team because of his capabilities.

Regarding their encounter with  Bush Bucks, Ndlovu said the game was tough but expressed happiness that they managed to collect maximum points to improve their position in the log.

Their strategy, he said worked well as they intended to sustain the heat and ensure Ngurungu’s dangerous striker, Moris Ruzivo had no chance to penetrate their defence.

“It is not easy to win in Maun and we came here for a draw, but we are proud that we managed to beat Sankoyo,” he added.

The game started in a high tempo with the visiting team pilling pressure on Sankoyo until the end of the first half, while Sankoyo did not play up to expectations right from the beginning of the match.

In the second half, the ‘Ostriches’ did not waste any time as Sesinyi scored the first goal in the 46th minute from a corner kick.

After the goal, the Orapa United goalkeeper was forced to work extra time, as Sankoyo started pilling pressure with many shots that were brilliantly saved until the last whistle.

Sankoyo Bush Bucks assistant coach, Tiiso Gadimang said his boys played well but were unfortunate that they did not score. He attributed their loss to the heat. He said the visiting team had an upper hand in the first half, while his boys sat back. Ends
