Tafic win morale booster

26 Oct 2015

The head coach of Tafic, Atshele Molapi says their 4-0 win over Tonota FC in the Debswana First Division North game played in  Francistown on Saturday October 24, was a morale booster needed after a couple of losses. Speaking in a post-match interview, Molapi said the team was feeling the pressure.

“So to win with such a margin makes me happy as the coach and we believe we still have a chance to challenge for the league championship, as we are still in the first round fixtures,” said Molapi.

Tafic lost two games in succession, winning two and drawing one and Molapi said he was hopeful that they would do well in the remainder of the league.

They came to the game meeting Tonota FC, which has been doing well on the other hand, winning their last two games.

But the visiting side was totally out of the game as Tafic dictated terms throughout the match and were rewarded on the 16th minute when Allen Dewere beat Lopang Ketlhobogile in the posts to make it 1-0.

Ketlhobogile was forced to make a good safe on the 18th minute from a powerful shot by Mbatshi Elias.

Tonota FC tried to come into the game, but could not do much as a powerful shot by Onneile Sebapalo was blocked by Thato Mosweu before it could reach Tafic goalkeeper, Chamunorwa Madamombe.

In the second half, Tafic upped the pace and were soon awarded a penalty by referee Tebogo Steven after the Tonota  FC defence handled the ball inside the box on the 47th minute.

Mosweu stepped up to score a low penalty shot on the 48th minute to make it 2-0 and sent faithful Tafic supporters into wild jubilation.

On the 60tth minute, Tafic’s Dewere earned his brace to make it 3-0 after beating Tonota FC’s offside trap. Tafic wrapped up the game with a spectacular outside the 18 yard area chip of the ball by veteran Phuthego Modipe on the 88th minute, sending Ketlhobogile the net in an attempt to save the goal.
