22 Oct 2015

Township Rollers continued with their unbeaten feat after forcing a 2-1 victory against Lobatse based side Extension Gunners in a be MOBILE Premiership game played at the National Stadium on Wednesday October 21.

The results means Rollers is still perched at the summit of the log with 27 points having played 11 games, they won eight games, drew three, and they are yet to lose.

However, during the game, Township Rollers scored the fastest goal in less than 50 seconds through Namibian international, Jerome Louis to make it 1-0.

The goal rubbed Mapanstula the wrong way, as they dictated terms to their opponents, and they proved to be better side in terms of ball possession and penetrating Rollers defence with ease.

Gunner's hard work and no retreat, no surrender paid dividends in the 14 minute, after Pako Gaofose capitalised on Township Rollers defensive error.

Township Rollers tried to re-group, but Gunners were just too good for them, and it was evident that Mapantsula has taken total control of the game, given that they won a lot of free-kicks in the dangerous areas, although they failed to convert them, and Rollers keeper Kabelo Dambe managed to deal with a Gunners free kick.

In the 23 rd Rollers won a corner, which was well taken by Tshepo Motlhabankwe and Segolame Boy who cleverly positioned himself headed it to make 2-1. Before half time.

Half time ended with Mapalastina leading 2-1, after break Gunners' continued to dominate the game but Township Rollers defence remained compressed, denying their opponent more room to maneuver more especially in the eighteenth area.

Sensing trouble Rollers coach Mark Harrison made a clever substitution when he introduced Edwin Moalosi for Ketumile Molebatsi in the 57th minute.

The substitution paid dividend as Moalosi managed to win the balls in the middle, and dictated terms to Gunners players.

Harrison told BOPA after the game that Rollers played well in the first stanza, but Gunners managed to control the game after half time.

He said he was happy with results, adding that he introduced Moalosi to go and control the midfield given that Gunners were now enjoying ball possession.

“Extension Gunners were very good on the day, look every time we play with team, they want to win against us, there is no easy game for us, that's the cross we bear, as Township Rollers, and every game we play is like a cup final” he said.

Extension Gunners, gaffer Daniel Nare said he still don't have his first 11 of players, because he has approximately 10 days into his job.
