Mariners Tse Nala historic clash
20 Oct 2015
Serowe Sports Complex is expected to be filled to capacity to witness the villages two sides Green Lovers and Miscellaneous clash in a historic beMOBILE Premiership match today (October 21).
It will be the first time ever that a Serowe derby will be contested in the top flight league since the national league was established. Miscellaneous is the villages most successful club having spent a total of five seasons in the elite league while Green Lovers are in their debut season.
The two teams have previously spent one season only in the same division when they both campaigned in the Debswana First Division North.
They shared the spoils in their first round match while Tse Nala emerged 3-1 winners in the second round.
Green Lovers head coach, Onthusitse Kootswele says his team is not under pressure and will play their usual game with the aim to improve their position on the log. Kootswele added that a derby is like any other premiership match because there is only three points at stake.
“The derby is like any game because only three points are at stake, we are not playing for six points,” Kootswele opinioned.
The Green Mariners will likely rely on their talisman Moatlhodi Ralesota who is the league’s current leading goalscorer with 10 goals.
Miscellaneous public relations officer, Sefhako Sefhako says they will come out with guns blazing to get the maximum points. Sefhako, however, said they will not take their neighbours for granted because Green Lovers have been doing well.
In the streets, football fans believe that Green Lovers will not stop Tse Nala. Mogomotsi Tudubana, a neutral fan says although there are slim chances of a draw, Miscellaneous have an upper hand because of their solid defence.
He added that Kelepile Terata and Samuel Phiri are doing well, noting that Green Lovers’ goalkeeping department is weak.
Miscellaneous supporters Thabo Kadisa and Bakgadi Kelekwe believe that their team will be all over Green Loves. The match will kick off at 7pm.
In other matches today Township Rollers will host Extension Gunners at the National Stadium at 8pm. Police XI will welcome Mochudi Centre Chiefs at Molepolole Sports Complex at 7pm,while FC Satmos will host Nico United at Selebi Phikwe Stadium also at 7pm. Ends
