Notwane in second spot
19 Oct 2015
Notwane has moved to position two of the Debswana First Division South log after beating Sharps Electrical 2-0 in a game played at Sharps ground on Sunday (October 18). Although the game was tough and physical, referee Orebotse Kekobang managed to handle the situation.
It was evident that both teams, came with guns blazing and showed little respect for each other.
In the 11th minute, Kgomari Mothuba received a beautiful cross from Mbuqe Sithembile, and he did not waste time but headed it home, to put Notwane on the driving seat.
The goal seemed to have rubbed Sharps the wrong way, as they tried to retaliate but all their good work were thwarted by Notwane’s solid defence and goalkeeper Itumeleng Selapa. The game went to half time with the score 1-0. After break, Sharps came with a fighting spirit as they moved forward searching for an equaliser, but Notwane was just too smart for them.
In the 49th minute, Notwane won a corner, which was well taken by Thato Mogorosi and both Sharps defenders and goalkeeper failed to deal with it and ended up parrying it into the net to make it 2-0.
The results mean that Notwane is on position two with 10 points; from six games.
At the summit is Black Forest with 12 points from six games while Sharps is on position seven, with eight points. Notwane and Black Forest will come face to face on Saturday at SSG, while Sharps will travel to Tsabong to have a date with Black Rangers who are currently at the bottom of the log with only two points.
