Titanic battle at Bosele grounds

07 Oct 2015

A breathtaking encounter is expected when two giants of women super league come face to face at Bosele Primary School on Saturday (October 10). Double Action, which has been dominating the league over a decade, will battle it out with last year’s champions, Township Rollers.

A lot will be at stake in this battle for supremacy and bragging rights.

The two teams have a lot in common; robust players who could make things happen in the field.

Township Rollers who are on position five on the log with three points, will largely depend on their experienced goal keeper, Sedilame Bosija to deny Double Action free scoring captain, Bonang Otlhagile to control her territory, while Bame Ngenda, Masego Koboto, Gosego Lekoko will be expected to destroy the Action girls on the day.

The fact that Rollers women managed to beat Double Action, home and away, in the 2014-2015 season should not make them undermine their opponents, given that Double Action have robust and strident players, who are capable of destroying Rollers midfield.

Double Action, who are  currently leading the log with six points, having won their two games will depend on, Thuto Ramafifi, Thuso Leseane and Ridona Sefiwa.

Double Action team manager, Dikeledi Ntshontsho said they were fully prepared for the encounter, adding that she was aware that last season they found it difficult to beat Mma-Masire ladies, but warned that Saturday’s game will be totally different.

“What I can tell you is that, moral in camp is high, and the girls are looking forward for the encounter, and we are not going to let Rollers humiliate us in front of our supporters” she said.

Township Rollers team manager, Gaone Kerileng said the girls were equally ready for the colossal clash against their opponents.

She said playing against Double Action was a motivation for the girls, adding that it is going to be difficult for Double Action striking force to dismantle the solid defence of Masego Montsho and Nancy Baeletsi.

“We are not under any pressure, in fact it is Double Action players who are under pressure to beat our ladies,” she said.

In other games to be played on Saturday, South East Girls United will battle it out with Prisons at Ramotswa Youth Centre, while Meat Girls will be hosted by Big Sisters at Ledumang Senior School.

On Sunday (October 11), Untouchable will try to redeem that pride against Makufa at Ledumadumane CJSS, UB Kicks will play against FC Legends at UB Stadium, while Gaborone United will have a date with Kanye Swallows  at Old Naledi Water Utilities ground. Ends
