Rollers interim leadership to meet financiers

05 Oct 2015

Township Rollers membership has given the club’s interim executive committee a chance to negotiate with its investors concerning its controversial ownership.

Before the October 3 special general meeting, many football pundits had likened Marang Junior Secondary School hall, where the meeting was convened, to Towton, a historic and fierce battle field in William Shakespeare’s tragic play Henry VI.

That followed bitter factional feuds which were seen as being the centre of the rot which rocked the ownership of the premier league giants for the past two years.

But alas, on Saturday the Happy People serenely resolved that the newly elected interim committee makes a date with its two investors Jagdish Shah and Somerset Gobuiwang to peacefully resolve the impasse.

The committee had already met Gobuiwang and according to the co-chairperson, Spencer Mmui, they are to meet Shah today .

Topping the agenda for the meeting was mandate to seek interim relation with the investor and committee co-chairperson, Walter Kgabung pleaded with the club’s membership for their patience while they resolved the matter.

He asked Mapalastina to display reputable level of responsibility despite difficulties that they were going through.

Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Tebogo Sebego who had been called to intervene to restore peace at Rollers, was also part of the meeting . He beseeched Mapalastina to uphold the institution that was Township Rollers.  BOPA
