 Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila is in Santiago, Chile at the invitation of his counterpart, Minister of Mining, Mr Aurora Bause.

Minister Mokaila, who left on October 4, is expected back on October 11.

A press release from the ministry states that during the visit, the two ministers will exchange information on running governance structures of a state mining company in Chile, CODELCO with a view to get assistance in the running of Minerals Development Company Botswana.

Minerals Development Company Botswana is a newly established wholly government owned company responsible for managing government investments in the mineral sector.

They will also discuss renewable energy programme as well as advance their discussions on areas of cooperation with Chilean government. BOPA
