Love giving back is key

Showing love and support to the less privileged brings hope and love especially to the kids.
Speaking in an interview at SOS Tlokweng Village during a visit to the children the founder of Women of the Kingdom of God Organization Ms Matilda Mmuru, said their organisation is a faith based Non-Profit making foundation that reaches out to people especially children.
Ms Mmuru said the organisation was founded in 2013 as a way of bringing young girls and women together to show unity and oneness amongst them and also as a way of grooming young girls at a tender age.
She said even though they are based at Palapye they go around the country teaching young girls self-love and confidence so that they are able to stand for themselves and to love themselves because it start within oneself before one could show love to the next person.
She said it is important to teach a girl child good morals at a younger age as they will grow up holding to such great principles and also grow easily with confidence not looking down at themselves.
She further said that empowering young girls at a younger age brings good results and Women of the Kingdom of God Organisation targets a girl child and young women together with elderly women and they also look after orphans and conduct community service programmes.
Ms Mmuru said they have various programmes such as feeding of children, the 50/50 programme where they give all those in need clothes especially girls and boys.
She said since the formation of the foundation they have been assisted by the business community especially upcoming business men and women and even individuals who extend their hand towards the organization whenever they have a project to carry out.
She said since they made a visit to SOS Tlokweng Village to spend time with the kids and staff members to entertain them and give them food and as a result they have started their journey to reach out to all parts of the country to show love and support to the people as a way of embracing the pillar of a compassionate and caring nation 2016 approach.
She said as an organization their feeding programme helps a lot of children as they are used to going around cooking for the kids and spending time with them and providing different activities for them.
She noted that it is a great honor when other stakeholders come on board to help them achieve their mandate, adding that All Hiring Catering Services came on board and provided jumping castles for kids to play on, while Heavenly Indulgence Cake studio brought cakes for kids to eat, while Caba projects provides photography and videography for the day, as Mr Laone who does art painted the kids’ faces.
She also said other organisations joined hands with them through cooking and giving out money for the food to be cooked such as Women Empowerment 101 Organisation, Femina Women Association and Health Generation.
She said they have catered for about 200 people including the 120 kids from the SOS Tlokweng Village, the staff members which is close to 30 and volunteers who came on board as well as visitors who came to spend the day with them.
She noted that they wanted the kids to have fun, enjoy music, play on jumping castles, eat snacks, eat the food and enjoy entertainment from a Hip Hop dance group called TNT which left the kids wanting for more performance.
Ms Mmuru said the kids need to be shown love at all times as in Palapye they feed kids every single Friday where they gather at the main kgotla and they are given food.
She said in 2016 they would like to extend the programme to Gaborone to fully run on Fridays where a place will be selected and kids come together and be given food, adding that it is important to do so as some kids only eat at school and the feeding programme has been more helpful to such kids.
She said in future Women of the Kingdom of God organisation plans to touch many life’s of kids as SOS inspires her most, adding that there were so many kids who needed such places and their dream is to have a village for the kids and schools build under their organisations where kids could stay and be cared for.
She said in future their dream is to feed kids all over the world not only in Botswana. ENDS
