Masisi to attend UN assembly

The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, will lead a Botswana delegation to the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly from September 25 to October 3.
The session was opened on September 15 at the United Nations headquarters in New York, United States under the theme: The United Nations at 70, A New Commitment to Action.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the session was expected to adopt the Post-2015 Development Agenda and mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The Vice President will address the general debate on October 1.
He will also hold high-level consultations and participate in side events to discuss a wide range of key issues.
Mr Masisi will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi; Botswana's candidate for the post of Commonwealth secretary general, Ms Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba and senior government officials.
The Vice President is expected to return home on October 4, . Ends
