Eco-friendly businesses way to go

Selebi Phikwe East legislator, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse has urged Batswana to take care of the environment, as their investments rely on a healthy environment.
Speaking during the world commemoration clean up campaign under the theme ‘Promoting the 3Rs (Reduce, Reduce, Recycle)-The key to a cleaner Botswana and sustainable landfills, Mr Keoprapetse said Selibe Phikwe as a mining town, is experiencing serious challenges on the environment due to the sulphur dioxide that is being produced by BCL Mine.
Therefore, he said major radius of the environment is lifeless due to air pollution. He further highlighted that government should come up with means to reduce the pollution caused by BCL Mine.
He said mining should benefit both the mine and the environment.
He also urged all those involved in any business to make sure that their businesses were eco-friendly, because in this era, businesses were done and run through means, which impact negatively on the environment.
He commended Selebi Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) for their efforts of keeping the town clean even though the resources were not enough. That, he said was a sign of dedication. Ends
