Relegated premiership football club, Tasc beat Tonota FC by a solitary goal in the Debswana First Division North encounter played at the Tholodi Primary School grounds in Tonota.   

The goal was scored on the 44^th minute of the first half via a penalty shot from Kabo Montlenyane after Tonota FC’s defender Basiamisi Sebapalo handled the ball inside the box ostensibly under pressure.  

Tonota FC, who were most of the time on the back foot, committed the penalty after being caught napping at the back; hence Montlenyane’s wonderful hard grass cutter that beat the home side’s goalkeeper Olebile Elias although he went the right way.   

In the second half, Tonota FC came back looking determined to reverse the score reading but they could not do much as the resolute Tasc defence frustrated them .

Tasc could have scored more goals had it not been for wasteful strikers like bulky Mompati Ontitile who could not take advantage of his body to bulldoze his way through the Tonota FC defence.   

With time the local side were awarded a tempting set piece just outside the 18 yard-area, but it not produce the much needed result as Onneile Sebapalo’s well taken scorcher missed the target by a few inches.   

The near miss seemed to have added firing power on the local lads as they visited Tasc keeper Kutlo Motswaedi time and again looking for that elusive equalizer. At one point, Kesego ‘Oscar’ Khudu shot wide with only the Tasc goalkeeper to beat after a scintillating attack orchestrated from the left wing. 

Another near miss on the 89^th minute by Mpho Njadingwe summed up Tonota FC’s performance on the day, which now leaves them worried as they avoided relegation by a whisker in the past season.    Although it is a bit too early to make conclusions, Tasc have made their intentions clear as possible title chasers and eventual promotional candidates at the end of the season.
