Orapa United continued to impress in their home ground and so far they are the only team unbeaten home. Thabang Sesinyi scored the only goal of the game over the weekend.
The game was played at Itekeng stadium in Orapa on Friday night (September 18). Miscellaneous had a game plan for Orapa United as they started the game with high pace and creating more chances. Master Masitara and Malvin Chipunza were having lovely combinations as they tasted Mosimanegape Robert on few occasions and the keeper denied them four times in the first quarter of the game.
Masitara played a through ball to Chipunza who unleashed a powerful shot straight to Robert who punched it off-wide conceding a corner kick. Miscellaneous tried a clever free-kick from a set piece on the right and Bogosi Nfila cut it back to a totally unmarked Kamogelo Molemogi on the edge of the area, but the midfielder’s shot went miles over the bar.
The Ostriches defended horribly to the point that their team Captain Thabang Mosige deployed from central defensive position to defence to add more numbers at the back.
The game was played one-sided and Miscellaneous could have killed the game off in the opening half but Robert was determined to keep a clean sheet as he provided outstanding saves.
Lemogang Maswena almost opened the scoring for United after having one-twos with Thabang Sesinyi and the striker’s effort flew over the bar resulting in a goal kick for the visitors.
The home team continued to press hard as Patrick Lenyeletse crossed the ball from the right wing and found Maswena who headed wide. The first half ended with no team finding the back of the net. The visiting team continued where they left off as they immediately launched attack through Mooketsi Gareonne.
Gareonne collected a cut-back inside the box and quickly snapped a low shot wide.
United fans played a vital role in reviving the team’s fighting spirit by chanting their usual intimidating songs for the visitors.
The players then took the game to the visitors through succession of set-pieces.Orapa fans were waiting patiently as their team were dominating the second half but failing to utilised the opportunities they were having.
The two teams made changes as they were looking for goals and introduced the benched strikers.United subbed Maswena for Lovemore Murirwa while ‘Tse Nala’ put Chakova Moyenga for Chipunza. Murirwa’s first shot at goal was punched by Gofaone Tapologo.
The striker seemed have read the game well while on the bench or heard the coach’s instructions as he continued to visit Tapologo’s post making attempt after another. The only goal of the match came up in the last 12 minutes of the second half when the defence of the visiting team were caught ball watching and the oncoming Sesinyi tapped in a simple gift goal.
