Sahara Stones adopt Sebeso primary
16 Sep 2015
Sahara Stones Hotel has committed itself into a seven-year union with Sebeso Primary School in line with the Adopt-a-School initiative. The director of Sahara Stones, Ms Gloria Orufheng said though her establishment started operating a year ago, they saw it fit to heed government’s call to adopt a school as part of their corporate social responsibility.
Addressing people who had come to celebrate Sebeso’s 2014 PSLE results achievement, Ms Orufheng expressed the need for all to contribute communities progress and improvement of lives.
“The task of building successful communities is not the domain of government alone.
Indeed the business community and capable individuals have a crucial role to play in making sure that communities progress and standard of lives improved,” she said.
Ms Orufheng further said apart from the P140 000 that they would give the school in the duration of their union, they would also engage with the school management from time to time to discuss their needs. She implored other companies to support the communities they operated within.
“With the vision 2016 timeline round the corner, I urge those that are capable to join in and actively engage in those activities that support the vision 2016 pillars so that we can at least achieve it in part if not as a whole,” she said. Ends
