New comers ,Mochudi Rovers registered their first win by beating Prisons XI 1-0 in a Debswana First Division South match played at SSG grounds on Saturday (September 12).
Last weekend, Rovers lost 1-0 to Black Forest; the loss that seemed to have taught them something given that they approached the game with lot of aggression and hunger.
On the 10th minute of the game, Prisons could have taken the lead, but Tabona Ntlogelang failed to do the basics inside the box after receiving a beauty from Rapelang Oagile.
As both teams continued to make some runs looking for the opening goal, on the 29th minute Rovers won a free-kick which was well taken by Tapologo Matlapeng, but Prisons keeper Andrew Race managed to deal with it to deny Rovers the lead.
The game went into recess with the score sheet reading 0-0. After recess, Rovers continued with their fighting spirit and only nine minutes after the break, Koketso Mphokothi made a good run from the middle of the park and passed to Botshelo Lekoko who did not waste but set Tapologo Matlapeng who did not hesitate to put it at the back of the net to make it 1-0.
The goal seemed to have motivated Rovers as they continued to enjoy ball possession and moving forward looking for a cushion goal, but lack of composure in the box was their main enemy.
In other game , Sharps Electrical played to a one all draw with Rolling Boys, Letlapeng humiliated Black Rangers 3-0,while Black Forest and Lesirane also played to a one all draw. Ends
