New school to address congestion
09 Sep 2015
Disaneng junior secondary school, which is still under construction, is expected to address congestion in Maun schools.
Speaking in an interview recently, director of education in the North West, Mr Aupa Masesane said construction was progressing well and the school might be opened early next year. Mr Masesane said the project was 72 per cent complete, despite the 26 days delay, which was caused by the delivery of building materials.
The school, he said, would address the situation in some schools where tents and trees are used as classrooms making learning and teaching difficult. Meanwhile, the North West District Council (NWDC) chairperson, Mr Reaboka Mbulawa, had welcomed the new school.
He said the village was expanding to Disaneng ward, adding that it would be also advantageous to those who reside there. Mr Mbulawa also said even though the schools were crowded, there were still some primary schools, which had classrooms.
He advised schools to make use of the free classrooms in other schools to ease congestion and make teaching and learning comfortable. ENDS
