Official encourages land registration
09 Sep 2015
Kweneng Land Board’s public relations officer, Mr Simon Paledi has urged residents to come forth and claim their land for ease of land registration that is ongoing in Kweneng.
Mr Paledi made the advice recently in an interview, saying the systematic land registration which seeks to map and register all pieces of land ranging from residential, business and other land uses was still ongoing and encouraging members of the community to register their land.
He said the systematic land registration has been done at Motokwe, Lephepe, Mogoditshane, saying currently it was being done in Molepolole. Some of the challenges in the land registration, he noted were low turn-up of plot holders as some plots were undeveloped and holders fear for their repossession, unresolved land inheritance issues and plots with no beacons.
Mr Paledi said for one to register their land they need proof of ownership, lease or title deed.
They also need an identity document of the plot holder, saying for land allocations made before the establishment of landboards, they need written proof from bogosi.
He said they also need a plot number that was provided by the land board during survey and a marriage certificate and a document showing if the marriage was in or out of community of property for married couples. Ends
