Strategies formulation needs creative minds

06 Sep 2015

Workers have been encouraged to come up with activities that will bring economic and social prosperity to the nation.

Mr Mabote Atlholang of Citizen Entrepreneurship Development Agency (CEDA) said during Ghanzi Land Board’s awards ceremony, that the new long term development strategy is expected to focus on poverty eradication, local economic development and sustainable development.

He said Vision 2016 was coming to an end while  government had embarked on the formulation of the National Vision beyond 2016 because most of the country’s long term vision goals could not be achieved by next year.

He urged Ghanzi Land Board management and staff to ensure that they worked together and deliver together in order to effectively implement the Post 2016 Vision framework. He noted that the award’s ceremony was a manifestation of recipients commitment to deliver on their promise and to the expectation of their clients.

He said the awards also symbolized team spirit and urged the recipients to encourage those who could not make the mark and take them as their companions. He urged the Ghanzi Land Board staff to put an extra effort on their duties to improve in order to reduce undue delay in projects and work completion.

He said public service demanded more than one can bargain for as the job always requires one to be a team leader, a good follower and a committed team player. He urged land board officers to always show unmatched honesty as Africa and the world at large was riddled with corrupt practices by individuals.

One of the award winners and Ghanzi Land Board, board member Ms Francinah Toromba who is a double award winner after winning the best performing board member award from the Ministry of Lands and Housing and the second one with Ghanzi Land Board still as the best performing board member said she was happy for the awards as they were a result of hard work.

She said hard work, patience, obedience and determination keeps her going and has urged land board management and staff to be transparent enough to stop corruption and educate the public to understand the effects of corruption. Ends
