Crafts vendors display at Maitisong

As part of the annual Maitisong Festival, individual art craft vendors displayed their products for sale at the one-day exhibition held at Thapong Visual Arts Centre over the weekend.
The exhibition, which offered art craft vendors and opportunity to market themselves attracted a handful art enthusiasts. Thapong coordinator, Reginald Bakwena encouraged vendors to continue participating in the exhibition to show their products to people.
Meanwhile, the Maitisong festival which started on April 9 brought exciting events to ignite the spark that flickered over Botswana’s artistic landscape for over 25 years. This year’s festival presented a 12-day family affair, fresh new shows at different venues around Gaborone.
The shows covered a range of the arts disciplines in the form of theatre, music, dance, poetry, debate, comedy, films and fashion shows from the home brewed, regional indulgences and international imports.
Countries represented included Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ethiopia, China, Brazil and the United States of America. ENDS
