Clusters accomplish mission
02 Sep 2015
Molepolole community policing clusters are achieving their mission of preventing crime.
Molepolole Station Commander, Superintendent Tawana Tawana confirmed in an interview recently, adding that ‘‘their visibility on the streets is noteworthy.”
He noted that crimes such as stock theft, burglary and house breaking have declined since introduction of cluster policing.
He added that the presence of cluster members in traffic controls have also contributed to reduced road accidents.
Supt Tawana also noted that clusters have amplified the numbers of police officers.
“In the beginning, people did not recognise them so we were forced to assign some officers from here to boost their dignity out there,” he said.
Meanwhile Mr Segokgo Molokele, who resides in Phuthadikobo ward, commended clusters’ efforts, saying nowadays people walk relatively free at late hours particularly those who knock off from the shops and religious activities.
He said every member of society should partake in fighting criminal activities in their community. Ends
