Class of 1997 improves lives

Seepapitso Class of 1997 has embarked on a move to assist the less privileged and needy members of the community.

Speaking during the society’s sponsored walk recently, CEDA’s client service centre manager based in Kanye, Ms Ogaufi Tafa said Seepapitso Senior Secondary (SSS) is not just a school, but rather part of the community that cares and goes an extra mile in improving lives.

Ms Tafa said the sponsored walk is a social and networking opportunity that leads to sharing of ideas on how best to improve the lives of the community.

She said the sponsored walk was meant to instill a spirit of business and helping others on the current students of SSS. She said CEDA blends well with initiatives of the community to better lives, adding that there are many ways of imparting skill and education on the community and students in which they used sponsored walk.

Ms Tafa urged students to partake in such events saying they could benefit in numerous ways as they are leaders and entrepreneurial icons of tomorrow.

She applauded Seepapitso Class of 1997 saying they contribute immensely towards the achievement of Vision 2016 pillar of being an educated and informed nation through developing Kgodisong Day Care Centre.

She said the sponsored walk comes with health benefits as it sensitises and creates awareness on the community to keep on exercising to promote a healthy living. Speaking on the side lines of the sponsored walk, Mr Nicholas Moupanaga who is the project coordinator of Seepapitso Class of 1997 said they started as a group and then realised that they can serve people better as a society. He said they then registered to become a society in 2014 with a motive of uplifting the socio-economic lives of the community of Kanye and neighbouring villages. Ends
