“The winning is not everything, but it does bring with it a sense of pride and achievement to be shared with their teammates, and having all teams and strong competition breeds innovation and improvement.”

The organising committee, Benjamin Moni stated that the competition was great way for the workers and community to strengthen their knowledge while having fun.  “We use acting casualties who demonstrate a variety of everyday emergencies to better the workers’ skills,” he said.

He further said they were in the process of engaging the community to take part in the competition, even though the rules of Botswana Chamber of Mines would not allow them to compete further, but it would help in case the casualties arise at homes. ENDS
