Government appreciates pre -schools
31 Aug 2015
Day care centres are important and that is why government introduced reception classes in some primary schools across the country. This was said by Ms Philly Segabo, councillor for Borotsi ward at a family fun day held by Jaira Day Care Centre in Bobonong over the weekend.
Ms Segabo stated that children naturally grasp things at a tender age; therefore day care centres provide an opportunity to catch them while still young and prepare them for primary schools.
However, she said some parents could not afford taking their children to day care centres, and government stepped in to provide an equal opportunity for children regardless of their family background. She applauded schools like Jaira Day Care for the dedication invested in the upbringing of children, citing that love and dedication in running a day care were crucial as they would encourage parents to bring children to a particular school.
Ms Segabo also commended parents for coming in large numbers to the family fun day, stating that such days encouraged teamwork between the school and parents as well as a teacher-parent relationship from an early stage.
Ms Onalenna Montebatsi, owner of Jaira Day Care Centre expressed with delight the cooperation received from the community. Ms Montebatsi said they continue to work with the management of the school to provide a conducive learning environment. Ends
