Assistant Minister of Health Dr Alfred Madigele has commended Naledi ya Botlhaba Burial Society in Gweta for donating to patients.
Speaking at the donations of 40 blankets, 30 sheets and 10 pillows to Gweta Primary Hospital, Dr Madigele said it was a notable milestone towards the attainment of Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation.
He said through Vision 2016, Botswana is strongly projecting its identity through various actions that express nationhood and patriotic sentiments. Dr Madigele said that the donation had come at the right time as the country was experiencing harsh cold weather. He also urged other stakeholders for increasing participation in social welfare initiatives in the realisation of Vision 2016 goals.
The assistant minister said there was fulfillment and personal pride to be counted among those who are committed to making a difference in the lives of fellow citizens. “It is also a testimony that humanity has not or is not losing humanness to modernity,’’ he stressed.
He said Gweta Primary Hospital accommodates over 60 patients a month with different special medical needs, adding that the donation would meet the hospital halfway. Dr Madigele thanked the society for their noble gesture and urged them to continue to support government efforts of improving the lives of fellow Batswana in whatever way possible. Ends
