A Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) team has left for Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, to participate in the Confederation of Schools Sports Association of Southern Africa (COSASA) games slated for August 27-30.
Teams for various sporting codes, including football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, netball and rugby, from Botswana will participate in the games.
Giving a motivational speech during the team’s send-off ceremony on Monday August 24, Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho encouraged the team to use the opportunity offered by playing at the games of this magnitude as a stepping stone.
For his part, BISA president, Joshua Gaotlhobogwe praised the coaches, technical officials and national organisers for assembling a strong team which he hoped would bring success to the country.
He said in the past games held in Lusaka Zambia, they scooped position one after accumulating six gold medals out of the possible eight, and they now set a higher target and the team have to meet that standard. Ends
