Gunners continue good run

Extension Gunners continued their perfect start to the season by thrashing FC Satmos 3-0 in a beMOBILE Premiership match played at Selebi Phikwe Stadium recently. The victory, Mapantsula’s third in a row, catapulted the Peleng giants to the top of the log standings with nine points.
Gunners started the match on a high note with Isaac Paeye and Kemmy Pilato testing the Satmos goalkeeper with numerous long range shots.However, their top man Mogomotsi Mokoka failed to convert deadly crosses from Moemedi Moatlhaping and Monageng Thaele.
Satmos managed to absorb the pressure and the first half ended with no goal. Moatlhaping found the back of the net in the second half but referee Mooketsi Mbekwa ruled the goal as offside.
Mapantsula wingers continued to deliver deadly crosses, notably one by Thaele found Mosimanegape Ntwaetsile unmarked and he scored Gunners first goal on the 54th minute with a header. Moatlhaping scored Gunners’ second goal, also through a header on the 57th minute.
Gunners coach Keitumetse Paul introduced Boitshoko Zikhale and Tshegofatso Chimuku and the duo immediately changed the complexion of the game. Mapantsula were awarded a penalty after Thaele was fouled inside the box and Moatlhaping converted to wrap up the victory.
In a post-match interview, Satmos coach Kenneth Mogae put the defeat down to fatigue as his team played an away game last weekend.Mogae also said that his players failed to close down Gunners players from crossing deadly balls that led to goals.
For his part, Gunners coach Pio Paul said their plan went well and praised his players for maintaining the winning momentum. Ends
