BR Highlanders target top 8 spot

BR Highlanders are targeting a top eight finish this season, coach Tebogo Mokute has revealed.

Speaking during a post-match interview, the BR Highlanders gaffer said his mandate was to qualify for the Mascom Top Eight tourney.

Mokute, who was nominated for coach of the season in the 2014/15 season, said he has enough playing personnel at his disposal to realise his mandate.

The Mahalapye side has roped in experienced former Extension Gunners midfielder, Tshepo ‘School-boy’ Molefhe and Vincent Ndzombe.

Molefhe boasts massive experience following a successful career with Township Rollers, Gaborone United, Gunners and TAFIC. 

Ndzombe who plied his trade with Uniao Flamingo Santos before decamping to the army side BDF XI was not available for selection against Green Lovers, Saturday at Serowe Sports Complex. 

Completion of his paperwork will boost the train boys in their endeavour to pursue their dream of finishing the league amongst the best, coach Mokute is convinced.

Mokute hailed his side for edging out Serowe outfit, Lovers arguing that a good team does not only play good football but win games as well.

Highlanders scored within the first two minutes of the game after towering striker, Kgakgamatso Chalashika tapped home a well weighted cross into the Lovers net.

As if that was not enough, Onthusitse Tamapo beat his keeper, Kemmonye Nyangane with a back-pass to put the blue and white train boys two goals safer.

Lovers experienced their second defeat after fellow rookies Jwaneng Galaxy thumped them 5-2 with 

In their first game, Lovers or Green Marines as they are called, had a dream start when they walloped copper-mining side NICO United 3-2 at the Serowe Sports Complex. 

Meanwhile, Miscellaneous  continued with their dream start to the beMOBILE Premiership when they nailed Gilport Lions 1-0 at Serowe Sports Complex. Ends
