MANCOSA inspires Papatlo pupils

20 Aug 2015

The Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) has donated 10 computers fitted with WIFI cards to St Martins Primary School.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony at Papatlo recently, MANCOSA director based in Durban, South Africa, Mr Ahmed Shakh said instilling the need for education supports a vision of success for every pupil in an inclusive education system.

He said the achievement of the vision requires all to focus on the learner and leveraging technology to support the creation and sharing of knowledge.

Mr Shakh advised the pupils to think out of the box during their schooling by identifying opportunities and seizing the moments.

He urged them to transform themselves into future leaders by adopting innovation, ethics and social responsibility as they were skills that were  marketable.

Mr Shakh further urged the community and other stakeholders to participate in stirring the children’s education for a better future.  “It takes a village to raise a child,” he said.

He commended the partnership between the school and MANCOSA, saying they hope  to work together for the benefit of the school and to improve the learning environment.

Outlining the objectives of the day, MAMARABOPA Development Trust chairperson, Mr Thebe Oremeng said the trust has adopted the school in order to increase teachers’ capacity to provide support and flexibility to pupils by sourcing educational resources to enable pupils to gain equitable access to successful learning.

He said their partnership with MANCOSA started nine months ago, adding that the development trust intends to nurture it to greater heights for the benefit of grooming a knowledgeable workforce.

For his part, Reverend Father Josias Shai lauded the donors for their endless benevolence in inspiring education on the coming generations.

He said it was through such a donation that the use of technology in classrooms would be leveraged to address diverse learning needs.

In her vote of thanks, St Martins Primary School head, Ms Thuso Nthibo thanked MANCOSA for their good gesture by donating computers to their school.

She said the gesture would allow their pupils to stay abreast with modern technology, and said they would ensure that the equipment receives proper care.

Ms Nthibo promised the donors that the equipment would be put to good use. Ends
