Kgalagadi region take stock

Kgalagadi South Football Association (KGOSAFA) chairperson, Tokyo Modise has appealed to his charges to improve the manner in which they conduct their financial and administrative affairs.
Speaking in a meeting meant to relay the issues discussed at the recently held Botswana Football Association (BFA) assembly, Modise said he had benchmarked important aspects at the assembly which he said needs to be incorporated in the KGOSAFA ranks.
He said financial reports were presented in a professional manner with the aid of modern technological support designs such as power point presentations.
He warned that days of financial mismanagement are numbered as newly devised systems will effectively eliminate money squandering, saying BFA has made it a priority to monitor financial reports of regional football associations. He said a team of auditors will be constantly sent from Gaborone to check the financial statements of associations.
According to Modise, the move was prompted by corruption incidences where gate takings revenue sometimes gets missing leaving no trace of where the money went.
On issues of administration, Modise said the BFA will not tolerate clubs that fail to pay their affiliation fees.
Clubs are required to pay P200 as affiliation money. The deadline for payment of such money is August 11, 2015. Punishment for not paying is suspension from the league for the whole season,” he said.
On development of regional football, he said BFA president, Tebogo Sebego was impressed with the resuscitation of league action in Kgalagadi as well as the establishment of women’s league.
Modise further said BFA is willing to invest heavily in western block regional football association, but cautioned that such investments will only come to effect if football business is taken seriously.
“The BFA executive committee wishes to bring the FIFA goal project 5 to the western block. This means the construction of a stadium either in Tsabong, Hukuntsi or Ghanzi will be necessary.
This came after the realisation that the block is less developed as compared to others in the country,” said Modise. ENDS
