Councillor updates residents on developments

11 Aug 2015

Residents of Sehithwa have been informed of projects that are earmarked for their village.

Speaking during a kgotla meeting recently, Councillor Maitero Segosebe informed them that the proposed construction of a weighbridge as well as staff houses was on-going.

He also stated that the roads would be upgraded since it was realised that it was a long time since they were maintained.

Cllr Segosebe highlighted that construction of a service centre and a slaughter house were set to also be built in the village. Sehithwa residents have been complaining that the Maun Abattoir is far away and that they spend a lot of money transporting their cattle for slaughter.

Cllr Segosebe also mentioned that Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital has promised to second a doctor who will be primarily based in Sehithwa. Residents, he said, had been complaining that a doctor only came once in two weeks to consult patients in their village.

He also encouraged parents to take charge of their children’s education which includes helping them with school work and enquiring about their progress at school. ENDS
