Chiefs unveil new sponsors and players

Defending beMOBILE Premiership champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, have secured a one-year deal with three different companies.

The club has partnered with Honey Guide/Lemepe Sorghum meal, Huawei and Bank of Baroda. It also unveiled its newest recruits for the 2015/16 season at a press conference recently.

The club spokesperson, Clifford Mogomotsi said the three companies have injected thousands of Pulas but would not reveal how much each company has injected towards sponsorship.

On the new signees, Mogomotsi said although they had acquired six players’ signatures, their desire was to sign more in their efforts to ultimately defend their championship.

Furthermore, he said they have adopted a new policy not to pay players sign-on fees but gratuity at the end of their contracts.

The new policy, he said was necessitated by the fact that they had situations where they paid players massive sign-on fees, but failed to deliver on their mandate.

Bank of Baroda representative, Bayan Jamal said as part of their corporate social responsibility to promote local talent, the bank decided to sponsor Mochudi Centre Chiefs because of their status as a leading football team in the country.

That, Jamal said , would encourage more competition amongst teams as well as promote the game of football.

He added that they were confident that Mochudi Centre Chiefs would continue to dominate football scenario in the country and also a suitable country representative in future competitions.

“In order to be the best, we must associate ourselves with the best and  having won the league three times in the last four years, Mochudi Centre Chiefs as a brand and as a club have proved themselves time and again hence resulting in our newly found partnership,” he said.

Meanwhile, the club has signed goalkeeper Edwin Mokibe, defenders Charles Mutero, Tshepo Baipoledi, Mpho Kgaswane and in the midfield the duo of Jackie Mothatego and Mkhanyesile Siwahla. ENDS
