270 health workers in Selebi-Phikwe

Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele says the Selebi-Phikwe District Health Management Team has 270 health workers who are neither nurses nor doctors.
Dr Madigele said out of the number, 188 were in Selebi-Phikwe government hospital, 15 in dental surgery and 67 in clinics.
He added that 25 were accommodated by government, 25 by the district administration in pool houses and 25 were occupying council houses.
He further said 87 were not accommodated and/or were waiting for accommodation, and that they lived in surrounding villages and with relatives in town. He further said there were no married officers sharing accommodation.
Selebi-Phikwe West MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had wanted to know the number of health workers, other than nurses and doctors, who worked at Selebi-Phikwe Hospital, dentals, surgery and clinics respectively.
Mr Keorapetse also wanted to know the status of their accommodation and those that were married but shared accommodation. ENDS
